Joris Snaet (°1971) holds a PhD in Art History and a MA in Graphic Design. He works as an architectural historian for the Monuments Division (Technical Services) of the KU Leuven and is also in-house cartoonist at KU Leuven and De Standaard. As an illustrator he has been working for the Gallo-Roman Museum Tongeren, Boer en Tuinder magazine, the Belgian Buildings Agency, the Belgian Red Cross, I-Mens, Uitgeverij Averbode, among others. His drawings illustrate international scientific journals such as Science Magazine, Trends in Chemistry, Green Chemistry, ACS Catalysis, Nature Energy, Angewandte Chemie and Dalton Transactions. Since 2014, Joris has been a regular participant in the Knokke-Heist Cartoon Festival. In 2017 he was awarded the second prize of the Belgian Press Cartoon competition. In 2018-2019 KADOC (KU Leuven) devoted an exhibition to his work.
